Elyria, O., April 17 -- Mrs. Myrtle Bradley, 22, Russia Township school teacher, has been indicted on a charge of assault and battery here by the Lorain County Grand Jury for whipping a pupil in her class with a paddle. The pupil, Mary Gerhardinger, seven, was said by a physician to have been injured. Mr. and Mrs. Gerhardinger, parents of the child, said Mary came home expectorating blood and showed them black and blue marks on her body. Mrs. Bradley declared she whipped Mary because the child "made an unnecessary display of her body after a cleanliness test." |
