Boy's Severe Sentence.
For stealing a piece of coal, valued at 5d., the Hayward's Heath Bench sentenced a boy of twelve, named Charles Bulbeck, to six strokes with the birch, to be followed by seven years in a reformatory, his father to pay 2s. 6d. a week for his maintenance and £1 9s. 11d. costs.
