GEORGE WILLIAM BOWKER, 31, WILLIAM SMITH, 22, JAMES COWLEY, 21, and HENRY PRICE, 20, were Convicted of highway robbery with violence on Abraham Jagelsohn and stealing a bag and other articles of the value of £3.
Mr. Pickersgill prosecuted, and Mr. Burnie and Mr. Fordham defended Smith.
The COMMON SERJEANT sentenced Bowker and Price to 12 months' hard labour each and 18 strokes each with a birch rod; Smith was sentenced to eight months' hard labour, and Cowley to 12 months'.
