School CP - August 2007
The Osun Defender, 15 August 2007Terror gangs in Osun public schoolsOsun State Government of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola has planted terror gangs in its secondary schools that make life and living unbearable for both staff and students. At Fakunle Comprehensive High Schools I - IV, Osogbo, the fear of a gang leader is the beginning of wisdom for the principals, staff and students of the grade one school. The terror kingpin in the school nick-named the governor's first born is one of the teachers and he is very close to the seat of power at Abere. The kingpin who cladded his men in peace corps uniform sirened to the sprawling compound of Fakunle Comprehensive High School and whisked away the five principals of the school and the senior prefects in the schools I - IV. The leader of the terror gang in the school was alleged to be the brain behind the open humiliation of the principals and prefects of the school, consequent upon the recent public disgrace the students of the school gave to the governor. OSUN DEFENDER gathered authoritatively that the senior prefects were each forced to implicate five other students for corporal punishment for their alleged roles in the molestation of the governor. "Each prefect at Fakunle was given 25 strokes of cane on their buttocks and others got 15 strokes each." The principals were issued powerful worded queries and threatened with demotion if the incident should repeat itself", it was learnt. OSUN DEFENDER further gathered that the ugly development has caused rancour and strained relationships within the school such that everyone now goes about in mutual distrust. Staff and students who spoke with OSUN DEFENDER stated that 'governor's first born' who has become a thorn in everybody's flesh had compiled names of persons in the school suspected to have made the state governor an object of public hatred and public opprobrium. The prejudiced and embattled terrorist in the garb of a teacher in the school is also said to have at his finger tips names of staff members who, he alleged, are activating the spirit of the Action Congress (AC) in the school. Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Education Mr. Jelili Adesiyan paid a visit to the school recently and handed down a litany of anti-PDP government activities the school had engaged in the past. He threatened to close down the school in the event of similar occurrence in future. It would be recalled that some newspapers including OSUN DEFENDER, had reported that the governor of the state was pelted for playing politics with the WASC qualifying examinations recently concluded in the state. |
