Iran sentences man to 10 times execution
Tehran, Iran, Jul. 06 – A court in southern Iran has
sentenced a man to ten times execution, the official news agency
reported.
Ali Mohammad-Afsaneh, from the town of Jahrom, was handed the
sentence after he was convicted of multiple murders, IRNA
reported on Tuesday.
Mohammad-Afsaneh was also sentenced to 148 lashes, 10 years of
jail time, and an 8,000,000 Rial ($800) fine.
Jahrom is situated in the southern Iranian province of Fars.

Iran flogs man in public for stealing motorbike
Ahwaz, Iran, Jul. 31 – A man was flogged in public in the
south-western town of Ramhormoz for stealing a motorbike.
The man, only identified by his initials M. Kh., received 70
lashes in Azadi Square on Wednesday, according to the local
state-run daily Asr Karoon.
He was flogged in the presence of judicial officials, the daily
reported.
Ramhormoz is situated in the Arab-dominated province of Khuzestan
which has been the scene of unremitting anti-government protests
since early 2005.
