Two secondary schoolboys get the belt
Corporal punishment is supposedly prohibited in Ecuador. However, in this clip from 2007 we see two students summoned to the front of their class to receive one not-very-hard stroke of the belt each on the seat of their pants.
There is an atmosphere of fun, and everyone is laughing, including the "culprits". Nevertheless, it is intriguing that the very idea of formal posterial chastisement of this sort, even if only as a jocular parody, should come so naturally in a culture where such things are supposed never to have existed.
