The buttock-framing "torso shield" which prisoners are made to wear for caning, and a cane. These were on display at the Pudu Prison Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur in 1997/8.
This torso shield has been put on a black model of a human torso. Its design is slightly different from that shown in the official photograph of a prisoner prepared for caning.
The wooden A-frame to which prisoners are bound when being caned. This was also on display at the Pudu Prison Exhibition.
For a view of the Pudu Prison information officer demonstrating its use, see "Pudu Jail museum is a family crowd-puller" in The Archive.
