Man flogged publicly for sexual assault on daughter

PATNA: A village panchayat had a man flogged in public Taliban-style for sexual assault of his daughter.

A man of Tiyay village in Shekhpura district was punished by the village body for forcing his 16-year-old daughter to have sexual relationship with him.

When the incident was brought to the notice of the panchayat, it decided to give him summary punishment of public flogging.

His wife had complained to the panchayat about her husband's deviant behaviour and her helplessness in saving her daughter for exploitation and mental torture.

Police officials of Chewara police station, under which the village falls, said they were unaware about the incident.

This is the third such case reported from Bihar in the last fortnight in which men sexually assaulted their own daughters.
