Man jailed four years for raping girl, 13

Intermediate Court Judge Awg Hairolarni sentenced a 22-year-old Malaysian to four years in jail and three strokes of the cane when he was found guilty of rape yesterday. Maslan bin Asli earlier pleaded guilty to raping a 13-year-old girl who had been missing from home since September 15 and only returned home after spending Oct 6 with Maslan.

Her disappearance from home was reported to the police and it was learnt that the girl met Maslan through a friend. On the last day she was with Maslan, her father received a phone call from his missing daughter and picked her up at the Kianggeh stalls where he brought her immediately to BSB Central Police Station.

Prosecuting Officer, Norhayati DP Hj Omar, stated that Maslan tricked his relatives by saying they were a married couple and to welcome them into their home for the night where he had sexual intercourse with the girl.
