This video clip has no sound, so we cannot gauge the atmosphere. It shows a couple of boys and then several girls putting their hands on the desk to receive two strokes of the cane on the seat from their female teacher. At the end of the clip, one of the caned girls is jumping around and vigorously rubbing her buttocks.

Clip 2 of 3 - Girls disciplined on seat with a ruler

Four high-school girls come forward to the front of the class to be punished by a shouty male teacher. Each receives two not-very-severe strokes across the seat of the uniform skirt with a narrow paddle or large ruler. The atmosphere in the room is jocular.

Duration: 40 seconds
As this paddling lasts only 9 seconds, the clip repeats it three times to give the viewer a better idea of the scene. The beneficiary gets three firm swats across the seat of her skirt as she stands facing the blackboard. The second and third swats are particularly resounding. The teacher is giving her a telling-off as he delivers the punishment. The atmosphere seems quiet and neutral: we can't tell whether the classroom is full or empty.
