Public Schoolboys Vote for Caning and Fagging

A POLL among a "representative cross-section" of Eastbourne College boys produced some unexpected results.

For instance, to the question: "Do you think beating is necessary?" 69 replied "Yes," and only 24 "No." And to "Do you think fagging should be abolished?" only 12 said "Yes"; 88 said "No."

Not so surprising -- decisive majorities in favour of small meals being sold at the tuck shop, house ties, rugger, British cars in preference to American cars, a school dance, and Eastbourne as a town.
