Sports: St. Thereza pupils caned to run
By Bernard Omalla In Jinja
There was confusion at Kakira Police Sports Grounds recently when teachers and prefects of St. Thereza Primary School, Kakira caned over 50 pupils who had failed to run round the field ten times during a training session.
Four teachers caned them indiscriminately as they cried for help.
When they got tired, they called two prefects to help them.
The pupils were later forced to run but most of them still failed, prompting the teachers to give up.
The Monitor later talked to pupils who said caning them will not help them improve.
