Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission boss Aaron Ringera has renewed calls for the reintroduction of caning in schools.

Mr Justice Ringera said that reintroducing caning in schools would ensure that there was discipline among students.

He was speaking at Sifuyo village, Samia District, during the burial of Mzee Antonio Wanjala, father of KACC deputy director Smokin Wanjala.

"Please tell (Attorney General Amos Wako) to review the Children's Act and allow caning in schools so that we can instill discipline in our children," Mr Justice Ringera said.

"We should not ape the Western culture of banning caning in schools as it's the best way of disciplining our children."
