Binga boy gets two cane strokes for sex with minor

BINGA -- A 17-year-old boy from Siansundu area in Binga was last week sentenced to receive two strokes of the cane for having sex with his underage cousin. The boy, who cannot be identified because of his age, was allegedly engaged in an intimate relationship with his 15-year-old cousin and girlfriend.

On November 2 last year, the boy took the girl's sandals and went away with them to his home in a ploy to lure his lover.

A week later the girl went to his homestead to collect the sandals and they became intimate.

However, the girl who was a virgin, spilled the beans when she started experiencing some pains.

She was examined by a doctor who confirmed that she had engaged in a sexual act.

The boy pleaded guilty when he appeared before Binga magistrate Stephen Ndlovu who ruled that a prison officer must mete out the punishment at the local prison.
